REAL HIP HOP SHOW INTERVIEW

UNREAL

1/ Hi Unreal, please let's introduce yourself.

What's up its UnReal the Baltimore Bullet aka Mr Serious Bizness and I'm reppin for Bmore City. What's up world!

2/ I heard that You live and represent for BMORE...How is this City ?
Baltimore is like a lotta of major American cities. Lots of drugs, crime & violence only big difference is unlike a lot of other major cities, we're a lot smaller. But still though its home so you can always find some beauty from the ugliness.

3/
If you could talk about some rappers over there, what'll their name and what do you think about to Live Hip Hop in Baltimore ?

I mean there's a much larger scene here than even some of the people who live here realize. Nobody's really blown up yet here but there are some artists here who've done some very noteworthy things. B Rich had a single that sampled the Jeffersons that manhandled BET & the radio waves for awhile. Bossman's gotta deal with Arista, D.O.G. Has a venture with Universal & has colloborated with Jim Jones. Backland got retired on 106 & Park. Skarr Akbar has a big following. I mean we've done some noteworthy things its just 1 of us have to take that big step.

4/ Do you think that there is a different feeling to do Hip Hop in Bmore when you look some other citys as NY, LA... ?
Yea because those are cities have all had a long line of major acts. They've all had their time to shine. The other difference is because the hip hop movements seem to be region based now, people are constantly trying to box the artists from the area with a specific sound. Like in the Bay its hyphy, down south its crunk or snap. With Bmore the 1 thing that we're popular for & its starting to spread now is club music. Sum of the new hip hop you are hearing has some Bmore club origins. Like you can tell they heard a club record & it inspired their beat. But I don't think club music should be the sole reflection of the Bmore sound. Especially where hip hop is concerned

5/
More than For Bmore, you represent for all the people who like Hip Hop. What's your vision of Hip Hop and do you think that it changes when you look in the 90's ?
I mean financially I like where hip hop is. Its a billion dollar business & I like seeing artists recognize their potential & get paid for it. I would like to see lyrics matter a bit more. Not just being more lyrical but artists taking more resposibility for what they say. I don't have a big issue with abc rap, I think you know what I mean, its just not my cup of tea. I don't feel it but its selling so who I am I to say its wack. As far as the 90's, the golden age, raps changed a lot since then in the respect that there was a lot of diversity & it all was hot. There was so much to choose from & everybody had their own sound. Now everybody's kind of just doing what sells

6/ When you Rap, Have you a special objective, is there something that you especially want to give to the people who listen to your music as some messages...ideas...
When I rap, a lot of it is a release from real life shit. So depending on the mood of the track or the concept of the song I could be all over the place. As far as a special objective, I want to be considered an all time great. I want my name in those Jay Z, BIG or Nas arguments. Those KRS or Rakim arguments. I mean what's it worth if you don't go for it all?

7/ I know that you are Independent. Is it a choice or do you wait for a deal with some big labels, majors..?
I mean being independent is pretty much the only option when you're trying come up without using someone already in the public eye as a stepping stone. Obviously if a major comes calling I'm very interested but I do love being the boss. But no one can deny the exposure that comes with being a major so that's always the goal, cause if you're really a hustler exposure equals money.

8/ You continue to stay Real and connected to your own business, you stay in touch directly with the Dj's, Radios, artists.. Is it difficult for you to organize your life with all this work ?
Difficult isn't the word homey cause if you're really on top of your business, networking is a job in itself. Still though the determined always find a way

9/ Your work also a lot to promote your music. your name rise to the top day by day and i saw you on many Myspaces... What are your keys to success ?
I'll work with anybody serious, determined or doing positive things. Plus there's gotta be a mutual benefit cause that's just business. Plus I grind like no tomorrow so as long as you work hard & smart it will always pay off ;

10/ I often heard that it's very difficult for a rapper to obtain some airplays on the US radios, overall if he's independent. Is it difficult for you to find some radios in the US and in Bmore who accept to play your music ?
Absolutely but that's partly just the politics of radio play & also not understanding how radio stations work. They've only got x amount of slots open & they're not keen on new music unless it has a serious street buzz and hell even in those cases I've seen records not get played. Its really all about who you know, timing & oppurtunity.

11/ Please let us know what do you think about the Real Hip Hop Show and if you think that it's a good concept for the Hip hop in general.
Well personally I support this show to the utmost because it supports me. I think the idea behind the show is sound but I wish you guys kept some of the songs you play in rotation. That way the world could hear me a lil more often! Lol ;

12/ Do you think that this Show'll have his place in The US ?
There's always a place for original ideas & new concepts in America homey.

13/ I would like to talk about your Album. all the sounds are very eclectic with some differents themes and productions... Could you talk about it ?
I like melodies so melody is very important to me. You figure that's normally sets the mood for the song. Also I have a range of taste when it comes to music so that's why you hear a lotta of different things from me conceptually. Plus I mean I've experienced a lot including the dark side of life, but why just limit myself to hoes, bank rolls & clothes

14/ A different question, but i know that you have also a clothing line... what about that ?
Well the clothing line is more my other half's vision but we're partners & I love fashion so it was something I felt like I should get involved in. Plus its fun to be involved in the creative process.

15/ Thanks a lot Unreal... if you have something to add ....
Yea be on the lookout for the G.R.I.N.D. (Gettin Rich Is No Decision) LP. I'm also working on a full length release with my man in France, Johnatan Hart. And I'll be on like umpteen mixtapes. Just hit www.unrealityent.com & www.myspace.com/unreal1 and stay tuned!
